We all love big names, and we are all waiting for the next WoW killers and new Aions. Behind the shadow of large game projects, there are always smaller ones hiding, not very promoted, but far from the worst. Today we will talk about just such a project and, oddly enough, it is being developed by our compatriots. SkyRiver Studio, creators of the “Mechanoids” series of games, is ready to present its first MMORPG “Order of Magic”.
The main feature of the “Order of Magic” in the interface and control. This game is an action game wrapped in an MMORPG. On the keyboard you will only use the movement buttons and numbers to switch abilities; all other functions in the game are performed by the mouse. This may seem strange to many, but in reality it is quite interesting. Due to this scheme, the battles take place in the same way, but very dynamically. All spells are equipped with homing, we lock onto the target and hit.
There are not many classes in the game yet, only three. Quite a strong warrior, a fast archer and a mage with powerful spells. Skills are upgraded automatically upon reaching certain levels. This scheme allows players to focus on the main entertainment in The Order, PvP. In our opinion, the balance suffers a little, mages frankly seem stronger, but perhaps this will be corrected for release.
Russian players cannot live without good https://nevada777casino.co.uk/login/ PvP and SkyRiver has taken this into account. At the moment, only the arena is available, with team battles and catch-up, with capture the flag. But by the time the game is released, we are promised large-scale wars for territories and various battle modes in the arena.
Another interesting feature of the “Order of Magic” is the linking of the character to quests. That is, without completing a certain quest, you will not be able to level up your character. Fans of LineAge games like this will not like this, but other players should like this scheme. It is worth noting that almost no experience is given for killing monsters. Character leveling comes through quests and that’s right.
In a week of leisurely play, we developed to the fourth level. There was always something to do, then a quest would turn up, then we’d fight in the arena, we’d show what kind of stuff we’re made of. We did not observe a player higher than level eight or nine in the game. After talking with the local “high leveler”, we learned that he has nothing special to do at this level, there are not enough quests, and there is no one to fight with in the arena, this shows the dampness of the project.
The game takes place in another magical world, where a new internecine war is coming. There are two factions at the forefront of the war: Migurath and Foundation. In contrast to them, the “Order of Magic” is created, some guardians of peace and tranquility. The “Order of Magic” also tries to control all magical energy passing through the world. The actions of the “Order” in relation to factions will be dictated by the players themselves.
The game engine was developed by SkyRiver. The graphics are at a fairly high level, which greatly sets The Order apart from the mass of similar games. The detail and animation are pleasing to the eye, and the world is beautiful and diverse. The frankly weak special effects are a little confusing, but I think that the developers will fix this for the release of the game.
Monetization of the game is planned according to the Asian scheme, shareware. Cry or laugh, it’s up to you. Of course, we don’t need another game pump to pump money out of ordinary people.
At this stage, “Order of Magic” is in open beta testing. But we don’t yet recommend trying the taste and color of the game, unless you are an avid “hardcore” gaming enthusiast. The server is quite empty and dull, and the same type of monsters quickly gets boring. Naturally, with the release of the game the situation will change dramatically, but this will not happen soon. There are active discussions between players and developers on the beta tester forum. SkyRiver listens to everyone and it’s nice to see that in a week your proposal has already been implemented in the game.
The main question is whether the developers will be able to realize all their promises. Doubtful, since there are a lot of promises and plans. But you and I will still hope, won’t we??
